BACKGROUND
I have been a lawyer member of the Law Society of Ontario since 2003. I have worked as a freelance lawyer at various firms in a self employed capacity, up until March, 2010, at which time I ceased practicing law, until a good opportunity arises. In 2003, I also became a commissioner of oaths and received a Certificate of Appointment as an authorized notary public through the Ministry of Government Services. In the past, I have handled a variety of work including family law, real estate, wills and power of attorneys and some varied litigation work. I have handled files in other areas of law, as well, and am always looking for new challenges. My education is extensive and varied, having studied at the University of Bristol (obtained a Master of Arts in Legal Studies) and the College of Law in London, England where I obtained the Legal Practice Course (bar for solicitors in the U.K.). I completed my B.A. at York University and my N.C.A. designation (for foreign educated lawyers) at the University of Ottawa. I then articled in a downtown Toronto law firm and completed the Law Society of Ontario requirements in Toronto. I have many years of experience at different law firms, handling a variety of work.
